WORK

SECOND MIND is a private thinking practice

It engages individuals and brands navigating significant decisions, shaping direction, identity, or experience.
This may involve a strategic shift, a leadership transition, a complex partnership, evaluation of a creative or experiential direction, questions of authorship, brand identity, or situations where instinct and data intersect.

SECOND MIND introduces a disciplined structure for examining assumptions, reasoning, perception, and implications – so that a decision, direction, or experience can withstand its own questioning.

You remain at the centre of the thinking space.
The inquiry often touches on questions of cognition, consciousness, perception, and intuition.
Depending on the context, the inquiry may take different forms.

EXAMPLES INCLUDE

Experiential Cognition Inquiry - Wellness Retreats & Immersive Experiences

An inquiry into experiences designed to produce reflection, transformation, or perceptual shift. The work examines the structure of the experience, the assumptions embedded in its design, and participant perception, before and after - clarifying what shift occurs, what is interpreted, and what the experience in fact produces.

Spatial Consciousness Inquiry - Living & Architecture

An inquiry into residential or architectural environments where spatial form shapes everyday living experience. The work examines how light, material, proportion, and spatial sequence influence attention, mood, perception - revealing how a space is encountered, and how its influence may differ among those who inhabit it.

Aesthetic Perception Inquiry - Art & Cultural Works

An inquiry into artworks, collections, or cultural objects where perception and interpretation shape meaning. The work examines the relationship between form, context, and encounter - clarifying the perceptual structures through which an artwork is experienced and the assumptions that guide its interpretation.

Intuition Inquiry - Brand Direction & Evolution

An inquiry into moments when a brand senses an emerging direction yet its meaning or implications remain uncertain. The work examines the signals, assumptions and perceptions shaping that intuition - clarifying what is being perceived and how it may be understood within a shifting cultural context.
HOW IT WORKS

Most engagements begin with a focused phase.
A defined period of four to six weeks.
One central question or situation
A series of structured conversations, with independent reflections between sessions.

The process often results in a perceptual mapping of the situation – making visible assumptions, blind spots, and implications.

Continuation beyond this phase is considered only when necessary.
Engagements are limited. Sessions are preferably conducted in person. Remote sessions may be arranged when appropriate.
